Hello! If you’re reading this, you’re probably interested in starting a chapter of Payment for Placements (P4P). P4P was started by MSW students, but any students with degree-required internships can start a chapter.
STEPS TO START A CHAPTER:
1. Start talking to your classmates. Recruit members for your chapter.
2. RSVP to attend our monthly onboarding meeting the third Sunday of the month from 5–6:30 PM ET.
3. Once onboarded, all students establishing a P4P chapter must ratify our mission statement.

FAQs
What is a P4P chapter?
Our chapters are based out of universities across the United States. These chapters allow social work students to advocate within their own schools. Our chapters conduct surveys to learn about their student body’s distinctive needs. In addition, P4P chapters engage in legislative advocacy efforts within their individual states.
Do I need to be an MSW student to start a chapter?
No. If there is not a chapter in existence in your area or at your university, we encourage students at all degree levels to start one. P4P chapters act in solidarity with students at all degree levels and in disciplines other than social work.
Do I have to be a social work student to start a chapter?
No. Any students with degree-required internships can start a chapter.
Do I need experience in organizing?
No. The majority of students running P4P chapters do not have previous organizing experience. We learn as a collective and from our individual chapter experiences. We have created resources for all of your chapter needs. We have a substantial amount of knowledge to share with you to help you navigate this journey.
